Super Junior address the break-up rumors

Since the release of 5th album, Super Junior has been thought to be breaking-up, because of members solo activities. In addition, Leeteuk and Heechul’s military enlistment provide more base to these rumors.

Recently, when Super Junior gathered for ‘M LIVE by CJ MO.A‘ they denied all such buzz and assured fans that everything is fine among members.

Leader Leeteuk said, “We don’t face much difficulty as a band. Everyone is playful and happy together, we’re always having fun.” He playfully added, “The only problem is that because there are so many of us, we eat a lot. So our food is expensive.”

Super Junior lends a hand to Thailand which is suffering from flood

Super Junior visited Thailand, the country which is suffering from flood.

On December 2 at 4:30 p.m., Leeteuk tweeted, “I spent some time helping out the Red Cross in Thailand. The hours that I spent with them weren’t long, but meaningful.”

“I hope our little helping hand be a part of relief activities for those suffering from floods. I think Super Junior found out what to do at this point. It’s willing to give a hand to those in need.”

At similar time, Donghae tweeted, “Pray for Thai. Don’t worry. Everything’s gonna be alright! I love you! Pom Rakhun!”

Netizens who saw the tweets comment: “You are warm-hearted people. I truly hope they get this message.” “It’s wonderful to see you guys being at the lead of this good work.” “What they need is continuous aid. I hope it is not a one-time thing.”

MAMA 2011 Singapore Super Junior’s ‘Hat Trick’ Award Receiver

Once again, the joint effort of Viz Pro International, a representative from Singapore and CJ Media with Mnet Korea ended successfully for the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA). Over six hours of live streaming from the red carpet event to the main awards ceremony was held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, 29 November 2011. One of the hottest nominees and for the loudest cheers, Super Juniorreceived three awards, making it a hat-trick in one go event:

Album of the Year: Mr. Simple

Best Male Group Award

Singapore’s Choice

The unbeatable 5-year-and-running boyband from SM Entertainment with at present 10 members for this activity, state that they would share these awards with their ELFs and their members who are not able to join them as they are serving the national service.

“We couldn’t have done it without our fans. We will always do our best because our fans deserves only the very best,” remarked Choi Si-Won, the member who is known to have tall, prince-like and handsome feature.

A few members who has Twitter has expressed their gratitude and happiness, tweeting their pictures with the MAMA trophy and giving a shoutout to their fans.

The MAMA 2011 show was also streamed live via the Chinese website Sohu.com for Chinese fans. Super Junior leader Lee Teuk commented on this that “fans all over the world has been with us and supports us no matter where they are. They grow everyday and that’s how we grow as well.” The band did their usual greeting in 4 different languages during their press conference: Korean, Chinese, English, and Japanese, showing how global they are today.

The specially presented for MAMA 2011 in Singapore was definitely the performance of  Super Junior’s “Sorry Sorry”, and 100 dancers, at the segment entitled “Mr. Simple Clone.” There were 100 boys and girls of Singapore through open calls to take part of this exciting stage, dancing to the famous song. “It was the idea from the Phillippines prison where they all danced to our song. And the additional input from the MAMA organizers and so we did it,” recalled Lee Teuk.

The boys who are veterans in the K-pop idol industry always have their hilarious tricks up to their sleeves, when members Shindong and Sungmin  grabbed the spotlight after everyone had the group shot, and in the end Shindong was left, making a peace sign. They were amicable and their natural ability to make everyone be in good mood certainly creates the different colors of the 10 members of Super Junior.

“We are sorry to all the press that cannot ask the questions today as we don’t have all the time, please send the questions to our Twitter,” remarked Eun-hyuk, which caused laughter among the media and press present.

2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards exceeds expectations in Singapore

The 2011 Mnet Asian Music Award (MAMA)’ which was held at Singapore’s Indoor Stadium on November 29th far exceeded the expectations of the viewers and audience of over 10,000 guests alike.
The stage was created to model the Chinese character for ‘Human‘, and appeared to be an enormous space station. The slogan for this year’s MAMA was ‘Music Makes One‘, meaning all the Asians in the world are able to become one through the medium of music.

The first performance was one by rockband YB, followed by hip hop group Dynamic Duo as well as Simon D, causing the audience to go wild from the get-go.
A collaboration performance of Chinese pianist Lang Lang and B2ST received an explosive response from the fans, and a sensual kiss performance by Trouble Maker, a unit made up of B2ST’s Jang Hyun Seung and 4Minute‘s HyunA, left the crowd surprised but thrilled.

Miss A delivered a special performance of “Goodbye Baby Goodbye“, including folding fans and martial arts moves in their choreography. A performance of Kim Hyun Joong‘s “Lucky Guy“and 2NE1 with “I Am The Best” was enough to leave the audience members overwhelmed.
The performances by artists overseas was equally impressive. J-POP star Koda Kumi lived up to her title as ‘Performance queen’, captivating the audience with her vocals and followed it up with a sexy and powerful performance. Legendary west coast rappers Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg performed “The Next Episode” which got everyone putting their hands up to the beat.
Furthermore, the rousing cheers continued with will.i.am performing “The Hardest Ever” and apl.de.ap‘s performance of “We Can Do Anything“. The crowd went wild when the two continued to perform the Black Eyed Peas‘ hit song “Where is the Love” with 2NE1′s CL.

The ladies of SNSD hung from high swings on stage, a performance only seen at their previous independent concert, surprising the MAMA guests and fans alike. Super Junior easily drew the attention of the audience as they put on their performance, going back and forth from the audience members and the stage. 100 back dancers joined them in the end to put on a Blockbuster movie-like performance that was extremely well-synchronized.
But that wasn’t all. 2NE1, B2ST, miss A, Dynamic Duo, A Pink, and more showcased their individual charms and unique colors to continuously receive an explosive response from the fans. The Super Star K3 contestants also performed on stage including Christina, Two Months, Son Ye Rim and of course, the winners- Ooh La La Session. Various artists also collaborated to perform by genre and by group, an event that can only be seen at the MAMA.

With the increasing popularity of Korean movies and dramas, the top Hallyu actors and actresses were also in attendance. The line-up included international star Lee Byung Hun, as well as Kim Hee Sun, Song Seung Hun, Han Hyo Joo, Yoon Eun Hye, Han Chae Young, Go Soo, Song Joong Ki, Kim Soo Hyun, Nam Gyuri, Park Si Yeon, Gong Hyung Jin, Kim Sung Soo, Yoon Seung Ah, Oh Ji Ho, and more. These stars presented the awards during the actual ceremony, and their attendance alone was enough to once again drive the crowd wild.
This year’s MAMA proved that it was not just another award ceremony. It further emphasized the impact of popular idols today. The awards went to the top Hallyu stars, and different from last year’s show which only consisted of a few different entertainment labels, top management company SM Entertainment was in attendance to bring up the atmosphere.
SM Entertainment artists such as SNSD and Super Junior performed to further enrich the show. The SNSD ladies put on a re-made, faster version of “The Boys” while Super Junior performed “Mr. Simple” and “Sorry Sorry“, both phenomenal tracks with intense beats.

This was the second MAMA to be held overseas after last year’s event in Macau, and Mnet feels proud to have accomplished such a large and spectacular stage.
A representative from CJ E&M remarked, “We started planning for this project since early July. We are thrilled to receive such an explosive reaction from the fans“.
CJ E&M plans to put on a grammy-like award ceremony next year, and they are also pushing ahead for a performance overseas thanks to official sponsors like authentic Korean food brand, Bibigo, etc.
CJ E&M head representative Kim Sung Soo stated during a press conference, “We want to create a music festival that exceeds the standards of the Grammys in America. We will not stop at only Asian Music, but will continue to incorporate more and more American music as well“.

Winners from the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards

On November 29th, Mnet hosted its 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (‘MAMA‘) at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, attracting stars and performers from both Korea and around the world.
This year, the awards ceremony tried out something new by having 20 presenters instead of official MCs to host the show. These presenters were comprised of Korea’s top actors and TV personalities, who helped distribute the awards to the winning artists.
